50 Songs 90 Days (50/90) Challenge - write 50 songs in the 90 days from July 4 to October 1. This project evolved independently of FAWM, but in 2008 and 2009 FAWM.ORG sponsored the event, so many people here have actively done both.

Album-A-Day - Self-challenge to both write and record 30 songs (or 20 minutes of music) within 24 hours. Not a community per se, but a related project in spirit. http://crapart.spacebar.org/aad/

NaSoAlMo - National Solo Album Month. The goal is to write and record a 28-minute record during November, concurrent with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). http://nasoalmo.org

RPM Challenge - Similar challenge inspired by FAWM and also held in February. The goal is to record 10 songs or 30 minutes of music (although not necessarily written in February). Some fawmers double-dip with this one. http://rpmchallenge.com

Songfight - Each week titles are given, song are written, recorded, and submitted. The next week, people vote on the best. Winners get bragging rights. This is very popular among fawmers. http://songfight.org

The 20th - On the 20th day of the month, write and record a song, so that it's complete and ready to share by the morning of the 21st. Tracks are compiled to a monthly CD. http://cabinetpin.com/20th/

Sounds of the Weak - Weekly recording assignments are given with various themes, then all submissions are posted to the website and podcast. http://www.soundsoftheweak.com/
